Today is a day of celebrations in Bulgaria.
For most people it is the celebration of St George (both Christians, Muslims and Romanis). It is also the Armed forces day celebrating the Braves. St George is the patron of the Bulgarian Army.
For the Romanis this is the celebration of Ederlezi, the arrival of spring and burning of big fires and eating lamb. It is the foremost day of the year for the Romanis.
Ederlezi is also a famous romani song. Both Bobban Markovich and Goran Bregovic have made recordings, see YouTube.
As I walked past a park with trees in flower I heard a mans choir through the loudspeaker singing a familiar tune. "Bergsmän vi äro, Bergsmän av ära, Järnet och stålets och gruvornas män....". Det värmde ett bergsmanshjärta att höra en sån skön melodi. Texten hade dom ingen koll på men vad gör det.
Here is proof that LelleBelle is in the water. Today I replaced the horn and now she sounds like a real man. Before she sounded like an old fart.
Leslie has asked about Nellie, the fender. I can confirm Nellie is fine and hanging in her usual place protecting the boat.
Nellie, our dog reincarnated into a fender, came floating up to LelleBelle in the marina in Höllviken , and has been with us since then. Faithfully keeping us from knocking into barges, locks and other boats. We even have Nellie's brother, a smaller fender which joined us in Düsseldorf, I think it was!
