Amalfi to Sorrento to Marina de Cassano 10 July (and Capri)

Planning to travel to Sorrento today and visit Capri. We hope to get a berth in Sorrento. 

Last evening in Amalfi in front of the beautiful St Andrews cathedral.

We had to enjoy a refreshment at the piazza in front of the church.

We startied at 5.30. Arrived in Sorrento at 8.30 and were told " we are full, no place for you " we moved on to the next marina, Marina de Cassano, which is just wonderful, and cheaper. Quite a swell, though.

The way to Capri. First take the elevator to get on top of the cliff, long walk to the train station and train to Sorrento an then a long walk to Sorrento port for the ferry to Capri.

We decided on two sights to see. Axel Muntes Villa San Michele in AnaCapri and the main piazza in Capri town. We took the local bus to villa San Michele. The road winding up on the edge of the cliff. It can't get more exciting and nerve tickling than this.

The villa was donated to Sweden. A museum and also an ornithologist ringing station.

We took the fenician stairs down to Capri town. 734 steps. The Sphinx on outlook!

After 734 steps and a 20 minute walk on windy roads and more steps we are in "the living room of the world"

Back in Sorrento the Turks had a parade.
