We left Gaeta at 8.30 intending to stop atTerracina for breakfast and to see the remains of the Appian way.
The town Gaeta.
The old town of Gaeta was bombed during the Second World War. The bombed out buildings are still standing on the promontory, some have been renovated.
Another view
Just around the corner a tiny church was tucked into the crevice.
Approaching Terracina. As usual Carl took us on a hot and sweaty walk around determined to find the Appian way. This meant that breakfast was taken close to 12 o clock and that meant pizza for breakfast. Carl and Pete could not resist trying the town's Cannoli. Verdict after two cannoli a each, bellisimo!

We eventually found something that could be the Appian way
right near the Marina!
Left Terracina and straight into a, for leslie, very rough and horrible sea. Carl and Pete found it fun and exciting. I will not do that again! Arrived in Nettuna at about 18.00. Have never seen the boat so packed in salt before. The marina here is gigantic, with boats and Italians like you have never seen before. It is Sunday late afternoon and one after the other enormous motor boats decked with girls and wives and kids came in. This boat is berthed near to us. The people are having a barbecue on the second floor. We were not invited.
Found a restaurant up a side street with delicious food.
